FAQs
1. How soon can I get an appointment?
Patients are assigned to providers based on a review of intake information. Most initial appointments are scheduled within 5 working days. The most efficient way to schedule an appointment is to contact our office by phone between 8:30 and 4:30 p.m. to discuss your needs. No appointments are established for adults (persons 18 or older) without the adult first contacting our office to make inquiry directly. If we determine, following review, that our services are not the best services in the region to meet your needs, we will carefully refer you to other providers. People with very urgent needs should report to their local hospital. Sometimes medication consultation is recommended, as well, in order to reduce the distress of the symptoms. We are unable to provide psychopharmacological services for adults, children and adolescents. We refer our patients to other area providers for medication needs.
2. Will services be covered under my insurance plan?
CPS, Inc. is not within the networks of any insurance carrier as most insurance companies do not pay for the cost of a comprehensive evaluation, and many do not cover testing for educational or developmental purposes, ADD/ADHD, to determine eligibility for special educational services or as a condition of attending a school, college, camp or recreational program, or for testing that is ordered by a Court. Therefore, we require an initial deposit of $500.00. This will be credited to the cost of the evaluation and must be attached to the signed registration form. Please note that evaluation reports are released upon receipt of full payment. You may pay with a check or we accept MC, VISA, and American Express. CPS is a Medicaid Provider and a State of NH DCYF Provider and will bill them directly accordingly.
3. How long does the evaluation process take?
Typically, we schedule one to two 3-4 hour blocks of time for the evaluation process. The evaluation process is completely dependent on the tests administered and the length of time each test takes.
4. What information is kept confidential and what information is shared?
When a patient or guardian contacts CPS, Inc. the only information that is shared is with the signed permission of the patient or guardian. There are strict laws regarding a patient’s confidential records and CPS, Inc. carefully adheres to these laws.
5. Who is my report sent to?
Evaluation reports are released only to those individuals or agencies that you or the patient’s guardian has signed a release of information authorization for.
6. How will I be able to use my evaluation report?
Evaluation reports are written in plain language. Each report contains information about test results in a summarized fashion. Very detailed and clear recommendations are provided including, but not limited to, treatment planning, educational planning (to include special education recommendations or specialized college services recommendations), vocational and training recommendations, and residential placement recommendations.
7. What if I need additional reports?
Additional reports are provided at any time at no cost. Psychoeducational reports are typically considered valid for up to 3 years.
